Natchez National Historical Park - General Park Information
Throughout its history, Natchez has always been a place of opportunity. This is evident throughout Natchez National Historical Park. From the magnificent antebellum estate of John McMurran, to the downtown home of African-American barber and diarist William Johnson, to the French Fort Rosalie, this diverse Mississippi River town has lent itself to opportunity for hundreds of years.
Operating Hours & Seasons Natchez National Historical Park consists of three units with differing times of operation. The Historic Melrose Estate is open everyday of the year except for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Daily hours are 8:30-5:00. The first tour begins at 9:00 and subsequent tours go out every hour, with the last tour being at 4:00. In regards to New Year's Day, please call. The William Johnson House is open everyday 9:00-4:30 p.m. The William Johnson House is also closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Please call in regards to New Years Day. Fort Rosalie is currently not open for tours.
Fees & Reservations Fees- There are fees to tour Melrose. Children under 6 are free. Children 6-17 are $ 4. Adults 18-61 are $ 8. Seniors 62 and over $ 4. Group rate- 13 or more people $ 7. If you are coming as a group , please make a reservation two weeks in advance by calling the park. The William Johnson House requires no fees. However, Group tours may make a reservation two weeks in advance. Reservations- School groups, church groups, and group tours, please make a reservation by calling the park two weeks or more in advance.
